Sunday, May 03, 2009 Lorraine’s Report
We’re back home at Beachwood RV Park in Birch Bay, WA. We spent Monday and Tuesday in a RV Park in Woodburn, OR., where the big outlet mall is located. I had some shopping to finish up. We left there Wednesday morning and drove straight through to here about six hours. My brother in law met us at the gate and got us in to this RPI Park. Thank you John, we do appreciate it. Wednesday evening my sister Thelma and John came over to visit. It was great seeing them again.
Thursday was a busy day running errands. I invited my sister and her family back to the Motor Home for dinner. John, Thelma, Ashley, and Ashley’s boyfriend,Paul came to dinner. We had another fun time catching up and then playing “Pass the Love”. I forgot to take pictures, so I will get them the next time they are over.
Friday, Chuck and I were invited to lunch with his old crew from work. We went over to the plant and had a nice visit with a lot of them. Thank you Lucas for cooking and setting up the whole thing. We loved seeing and visiting with everyone. Then Chuck came back to wash the coach while I went to town to have a fitting for the dress I’m wearing for the wedding for Richard and Sandy in June. Richard and Sandy met me there and we had a nice visit. They wanted to come out to the Motor Home with the family on Saturday. Once back to the coach, we took my sister and her husband to dinner at the Swinomish Casino for the famous Seafood Buffet. They have fresh Dungeness crab, salmon, shrimp and whole variety of other seafood. Thelma and I thoroughly enjoyed the Dungeness crab. It was great!!
Saturday, Richard, Sandy, their daughter, Corrine and her new baby, Madeline, daughter, Kelsey, daughter, Crystal, her husband, Josh and their baby Jasmine all came over for a visit. It was so good to see everyone, we had a nice quiet day visiting, making plans for the bachelor/bachelorette party and eating. I also taught the girls how to play “Pass the Love”. Corrine was the lucky winner of the evening. Another great time.
This next week is visit the doctors, do more running week; and Susy and Kaitlyn are coming Wednesday for a visit for Mother’s Day. Mark will come up to see his Dad and Mom on Friday evening.
So that’s it for another week. While it hasn’t slowed down for me, I really enjoy seeing and visiting everyone. And even though it’s colder and wetter here, I love it when it’s sunny and I love seeing the mountains and the green trees and the salt water.
Till next time… Be well………….Lorraine
Sunday May 3, 2009 Chuck’s Report
I’m going to try a different tact this week, not write as much but include lots of pictures. I’ve noticed (as I’m sure you have) that Lorraine and I seem to put the same info in our blogs, not surprising as we are together and do the same thing most of the time. I will post a heading for a group of pictures and let them do the talking for me.
Our plans while here are to complete our annual doctor visits, put some stuff in storage and get ready for our trip to Alaska. At this time we aren’t sure of our travel schedule to Alaska but will finalize it this week, I hope. We also plan to visit with friends as much as possible too, that’s always fun.
We left Oregon on Wednesday and headed for Washington. Tim left a bit before we did as he wanted to stop a couple of places. We pulled into the campground where my BIL John was waiting for us. We got set up and had a good visit with Lorraine’s sister Thelma, John, their daughter Ashley and her friend Paul. We forgot to get pictures of them but we will be seeing more of them during our visit here.
Spring has sprung here in Washington State, who needs to go to Washington DC to see the cherry trees?
Lorraine and I were invited to a hot dog lunch back at work with some of the guys I worked with. Thanks Lucas for setting it up and cooking the dogs. It was good to see and visit with the gang.
Here are two pictures of Mt. Baker taken from the freeway. This is the mountain that Sue painted on our name plate/sign. Looks like the snow is melting pretty fast up there. Our house (that hasn’t sold yet) overlooks the bay with Bellingham and this mountain include in the view out our front window.
Richard, his fiancé Sandy, three daughters Crystal, Corrine and Kelsey, son-in-law Josh and two granddaughters Jasmine and Madeline came over to the coach to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon with us. We sure enjoyed the visit with them. I thought Lorraine might get her baby fix but I think it just made it worse. Susy and Kaitlyn are planning on coming up this week and spend Mother’s Day with her so that will help a lot.
Until next time - - - - - - Chuck
